Janet Rigdon and the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Handbags of Hope campaign, featuring an evening of fun, food and over a hundred handbags donated by celebrities to be auctioned off. Available at the August 21 event will be handbags signed by 20 different celebrities, including Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey.
All proceeds go to benefit the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation and its mission to educate and support women and cancer research.
This is not Patrick's first foray into charitable giving for cancer-related causes. His mother successfully overcame ovarian cancer, and earlier this year, the Grey's Anatomy hunk helped found the Central Maine Cancer Center in his home state.
